Update of ICD-11 Circulatory System Disease Classification and Analysis of Application Rules
ICD-11 has made some adjustments to the classification structure and coding rules of circulatory system diseases. The acute rheumatic fever(I00-I02)group of categories has been moved to Chapter 1 Certain Infectious or Parasitic Diseases in ICD-11.Cerebrovascular diseases(I60-I69)are reclassified to Chapter 8 Diseases of the nervous system.Hemorrhoids(I84)and esophageal varices(I85)are classified in the chapter of digestive system diseases. The circulatory system chapter in ICD-11 has added many new clinical concepts and has also undergone some reorganization. For instance,hypotension(I95)is given a separate section, coronary artery disease is reorganized into a separate section, and the post-operative circulatory disorders section expands on the postoperative disease section. For specific diseases, the classification of essential hypertension(I10)and pulmonary hypertension is more detailed. The classification axis of valvular heart disease and acute myocardial infarction has changed.Coronary atherosclerosis(I25.1)adopts a post-coordinated method to express disease attributes in multiple dimensions. The three-component cluster coding model is used for post-operation diseases involving medical safety.Compared with ICD-10,ICD-11 is closer to the clinic, and its expression of disease is more comprehensive, detailed, and flexible, which can better meet the needs of medical data informatization and medical quality and safety management.
