Analysis on the Characteristics of Children Accidental Injury in Single Center of Nanchang Area from 2013 to 2019
Objectives To explore the epidemiological characteristics of children with accidental injuries in this region,and provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of children with accidental injuries.Methods The case information of outpatients and emergency patients with injuries,poisoning and other external causes were collected from HIS system database of a Three A and Tertiary Children's Hospital in Nanchang of Jiangxi Province from 2013 to 2019,which were mainly diagnosed by the International Classification of Diseases(ICD-10)from S00 to T98.Results A total of 224101 person-time with accidental injuries were collected,including 71.28%patients from the area of Nanchang,and the male to female ratio was 1.77:1;The median age was 3 years and 1 month;With the increase of age,the accidental injuries showed a decreasing trend,and the accidental injuries were more common in infants and school-age children in different years,and the differences in age composition in each year were statistically significant(χ2=197.33,P<0.001);The overall trend of person-time of hospital visits in accidental injuries from 2013 to 2019 was increasing year by year(χ2trend=2563.919,P<0.001);In different years,trauma and foreign bodies were the main cases of children with accidental injuries,and the difference of injury causes in each year was statistically significant(χ2=1421.06,P<0.001).Accidental injuries were more common in summer and autumn,and the difference of the composition ratio of accidental injuries in different seasons and years had statistical significance(χ2=337.78,P<0.001).Conclusions The majority of children with accidental injuries were boys,and infants and preschool children were high-risk groups of accidental injuries,showing an increasing trend year by year in recent years.Trauma and foreign bodies were the focus of prevention and treatment of accidental injuries in children,and summer and autumn were the key periods to prevent accidental injuries in children.
