Development and Feasibility Evaluation of Routine Training Software for Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute and Severe Diseases for Residents in Gastroenterology Department
Objectives This study aimd to develop the routine training software for diagnosis and treatment of acute and severe diseases for residents in gastroenterology department by using information technology, and to evaluate the feasibility. Methods The software was created, the database was established, and the modules, difficulties and customs clearance modes were set up.The study included residents who trained in the gastroenterology department from March 1st,2022 to December 31st,2022.The software was used for training and assessment.Assessment results, clinical competency, satisfaction and recommendations were recorded.Result Residents'satisfaction with the software was 5(5,5).A total of 45 residents were included in this study and completed 60 times of assessment training,of which 15 residents completed twice.43 residents were successful in customs clearance, with a success rate of 96.67%.The clinical competency of those who participated in the training and assessment for the second time was 5(4,5),higher than that of the first time 4(4,5),P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant. In the fourth module(medication use),the number of errors in the first year of training was higher than that in the third year, and in the second year of training was higher than that in the third year,P<0.05,and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusions The use of the routine training software increased the interest of training and assessment, improved the clinical competency of residents, and could be repeated and stratified training and assessment. The software was suitable for the routine training and assessment of critical diseases diagnosis and treatment in gastroenterology department, and was worthy of further promotion in teaching practice.
