A survey on the Current Situation of Medical Record Departments in 31 Public Hospitals of Secondary and Above in Chongqing
Objectives This study aims to understand the current status of medical record management in public hospitals in Chongqing,in order to provide a basis for promoting the development of the medical record discipline in the city.Methods A total of 31 public hospitals of secondary or above in Chongqing were randomly selected to conduct a questionnaire survey on the staffing,informatization level,and talent introduction of the medical records department,etc.,from July 1,2022 to October 31,2022.Descriptive statistical methods were used for analysis.Results The actual ratio of open beds to medical record management staff in 31 hospitals was 126.38∶1,and independent medical record departments accounted for 22.58%.Professionals related to medical record management in tertiary hospitals accounted for 75.35%,mainly with a bachelor's degree,accounting for 60.28%.Professionals related to medical record management in secondary hospitals accounted for 80.00%,and undergraduates accounted for 57.30%.The average electronic medical record rating of hospitals at all levels was only 3.5.61.29%of secondary and tertiary hospitals had the need to introduce talents in the past three years.Conclusions The medical record departments of secondary and above hospitals in Chongqing still have problems such as staff shortages and low levels of informatization.Further improvements need to be made in terms of talent training,system upgrades,and management improvements to meet the requirements of modern hospital management for medical record work.
