The informed consent system is an important means and approach to protect patients'right to know in medical activities.As an important carrier of patients'right to informed consent,the appropriateness of the patient's signatory is an important aspect of evaluating the performance of medical institutions'obligation to inform.This article starts with the case of defects in the signing subject of informed consent forms in actual medical work,analyzes the institutional evolution of relevant laws and regulations regarding the notified object and signing subject in medical activities,elaborates on the requirements for fulfilling the disclosure obligation under current laws and regulations,and the challenges it faces in actual medical work.It analyzes the legal and practical dispute risks faced by family members signing alone or patients signing alone.It is recommended that on the basis of the patient's informed consent,the family members should be included in the informed consent and their signatures be obtained through the patient's authorization or the patient's family's double consent and double signature strategy,so as to enhance family members'knowledge and understanding of the diagnosis and treatment process,and to help family members establish objective disease expectations and risk awareness.Based on the patient's informed consent,the family members should also be informed of the condition and communicate and sign to avoid and reduce the occurrence of disputes caused by insufficient notification.
