Objectives This study aims to explore the epidemiological rules of trauma in juvenile trauma patients,so as to provide a reference for the prevention and treatment of trauma in juveniles. Methods All case data in a hospital's trauma center from June 1,2020 to May 31,2023 were collected, and cases of juvenile trauma patients with complete data that passed quality control were selected for retrospective analysis. Results There were 3156 juvenile trauma patients, including 2155 males and 1001 females, with a ratio of 2.15:1.The annual incidence of trauma was high in March,April,May,June, and September, and lower in November and December. The incidence of daily trauma was high from 18 to 22 o'clock, and lower from 0 to 8 o'clock.Children aged 0-6 years accounted for the highest number of injuries. The main cause of injury was falling from height(51.08%).The main injury site was limbs/skin(59.28%),followed by head and neck(32.22%),and the distribution of injury sites among different trauma sites was statistically significant(P<0.001).Conclusions The incidence of juvenile trauma is higher among males than females, with the highest number of cases occurring in preschool children. The main causes of injury are falls from height and falls.Enhancing fall prevention measures for minors, especially preschool children, and raising awareness about self-protection and traffic safety can reduce the incidence of juvenile trauma and safeguard the lives and health of young individuals.
