Scientific Research Practice of Constructing Central Nervous System Lymphoma Database for Medical Undergraduates
Cultivating research capabilities among undergraduate medical students is a crucial aspect of medical education. This study explores the feasibility and effectiveness of enhancing these research skills through a PCNSL Access database project. The project selected undergraduate students with specific professional knowledge and scientific research skills. They used fragmented time to complete the construction of the PCNSL case database under the guidance of instructors. The project included four modules:system login, information entry, query, and report generation.Participants improved their abilities in data management, scientific research communication, and data analysis during the proiect. The scientific research results included the construction of database and preliminary statistical analysis. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that participants believed the project provided valuable scientific research training opportunities and enhanced their scientific research awareness and abilities. However,it also highlighted difficulties such as insufficient scientific research experience and skills,as well as high academic pressure. The study recommends strengthening mentor guidance, providing more practical opportunities, and encouraging students to participate in scientific research activities to better cultivate the research and innovation capabilities of medical undergraduates. This project verified the feasibility of small scientific research teams conducting research projects at the undergraduate level and provided a reference for medical education to cultivate more outstanding talents.
