Application of Multi-Modal Imaging Interactive Teaching Platform in Clinical Teaching of Ophthalmology
Objectives This study aims to evaluate the application value of the interactive teaching platform based on multi-modal imaging technology in clinical teaching of ophthalmology. Methods 40 medical students majoring in clinical medicine at a tertiary level in Beijing from January 31,2021 to July 2,2021 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group of 20 students each. The observation group was treated with the multi-modal imaging interactive platform teaching method, while the control group was instructed with the traditional teaching method. After teaching, the students'ability to diagnose and treat clinical cases was quantified, and their enthusiasm for learning,as well as satisfaction with the teaching efforts, were assessed through a questionnaire. Results The scores from the teaching feedback survey for the observation group students in various aspects, including satisfaction with teaching methods, stimulation of learning initiative, improvement of learning efficiency, assistance in cultivating clinical thinking ability, and assistance in enhancing clinical disease diagnosis and treatment ability, were as follows:16.75±1.80,15.20±2.21,15.00±1.89,13.95±2.03,and 12.30±2.15,respectively,which were higher than those in the control group. The median theoretical and clinical knowledge assessment scores of students in the observation group were 90(81.25,90.75)and 90(80.0,90.0)respectively.The assessment scores were higher than those in the control group. Conclusions The multi-modal imaging interactive teaching platform for ophthalmology is highly effective in the clinical teaching of medical students because it can effectively improve the teaching efficiency, the students'enthusiasm for learning and satisfaction with teaching, and consequently it will play a positive role in promoting the improvement of ophthalmology teaching methods.
