Analysis on ICD-10 Encoding Rules for Multiple Site Malignant Tumors Based on Literature Retrieval
Objectives Through summarizing and analyzing the ICD-10 coding rules for multiple site malignant tumors by systematically reviewing the literature, this provided a reference basis for medical record coders in accurate classification. Methods To retrieve literature about coding guidelines for multiple site malignant tumors published on CNKI,VIP,International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Issues, and Medical Record Informatics from January,2004 to June,2023,and making induction and analysis. Results A total of 7 eligible literature were ultimately screened, multiple site malignant tumors could be divided into four categories:primary malignant tumors with invasion or metastasis, malignant neoplasms overlapping, multiple primary malignant tumors, and other multiple site malignant tumors by summarizing the literature, different types multiple site malignant tumors have different coding rules. Conclusions Coders needed to understand the connotation and coding rules of various types of multiple site malignant tumors. If necessary,it was necessary to communicate and contact the pathology and clinical departments, then improving the coding quality of multiple site malignant tumors.
