Analysis on the Influencing Factors of the Cost Change of Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer in a Three A and Tertiary Hospital in Jiangsu Province from 2021 to 2022
Objective To explore the inpatient expenses and influencing factors of metastatic breast cancer patients in a Three A and Tertiary Hospital in Jiangsu Province from 2021 to 2022.Methods Data of 850 patients with breast cancer who were hospitalized for surgery and discharged according to medical advice were collected from the case database of a Three A and Tertiary Hospital in Jiangsu Province from January 1st,2021 to December 31st,2022 for retrospective analysis,baseline data and hospitalization data of case samples were collected,and the composition of hospitalization expenses was analyzed.The cost difference of baseline data and in-patient data of patients with metastatic breast cancer in a Three A and Tertiary Hospital in Jiangsu province was analyzed by univariate analysis,and the influencing factors of cost of patients with metastatic breast cancer were further analyzed.Results Age of 34~72(65.45±4.34)years old,length of hospital stay 22~40(35.45±2.34)days,self-pay and medical insurance were 235 cases,615 cases,165 cases of stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ,685 cases of stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ.Non-surgical treatment cost and western medicine cost were the main expenditure items of metastatic breast cancer patients,accounting for more than 30.00%.Independent risk factors for increased hospitalization costs of patients with metastatic breast cancer in a Three A and Tertiary Hospital in Jiangsu province included aged above 60 years old,complications,clinical TNM stages Ⅲ~Ⅳ,medical expenses and medical insurance burden,lack of clinical pathway management,and length of stay over 30 days.Conclusions Aged above 60 years old,complications,medical insurance expenses,no clinical pathway management,hospital stay over 30 days,clinical TNM stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ would increase the hospitalization costs of patients with metastatic breast cancer.All these factors should be taken as the new key points of follow-up medical expenses for optimization and reform.
