Analysis of Hospitalization Expenses and Influencing Factors in Delivery of Twin Pregnancies
Objectives To analyze the hospitalization expenses composition and its influencing factors in hospital delivery of twin pregnancies,so as to provide reference for effective control obstetric hospitalization expenses. Methods The front page information of 1439 cases of twin delivery in a hospital in Chongqing from January 1st,2021 to December 31st,2022 were collected. The correlation analysis, single factor analysis and multiple linear regression methods were used to analyze the influencing factors of hospitalization expenses. Results The average hospitalization expenses of 1439 twins was 9079.3 yuan. The expenses of examination accounted for the highest proportion(33.7%),followed by treatment(22.9%)and medicine(22.3%).Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in hospitalization expenses of age, admission route, chorionic nature, pregnancy risk grade,ART twins, blood transfusion, gestational weeks of delivery and length of stay(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression model indicated that blood transfusion, length of stay ≥ 6 days,high-risk pregnancy, hospital transfer, delivery before 33 weeks would significantly increase the hospitalization expenses of twins(P<0.05),and the standardized partial regression coefficients were 5158.49,4249.80,2966.69,1772.29 and 852.17,respectively.Conclusions Length of stay, pregnancy risk grade, blood transfusion or not,way of hospitalization and gestational age were the major influencing factors of hospitalization expenses.Prevention and treatment of preterm birth, reduction of obstetric complications and the incidence of cesarean section were the key to control hospitalization expenses.
