Analysis of Death Cases in a Three A and Tertiary Hospital from 2018 to 2022
Objectives By analyzing the composition of death cases,consider how to improve the medical quality and safety of hospitals,and provide corresponding suggestions for hospital management.Methods A retrospective analysis of 622 death cases from January 1st,2018 to December 31st,2022 was carried out.Excel 2010 and SPSS 26.0 were used to analyze the sex,age,admission route,season and disease distribution of the dead cases.Results After eliminating repeated admissions,306978 inpatients were included,among which 622 died,the overall case fatality rate is 0.20%.The case fatality rate of male inpatients was 1.92 times that of female inpatients,and the case fatality rate of 65-year-old inpatients was the highest(50.96%),followed by 25-year-old inpatients(27.17%)and ≥ 85-year-old inpatients(19.45%).The case fatality rate of death in emergency patients was 1.53 times higher than that in non-emergency patients,and the case fatality rate of death in autumn and winter was higher than that in spring and summer.The first three diseases were cardiovascular disease(47.75%),respiratory disease(16.72%)and tumor(9.32%),Overall,the mortality rates of the top three causes of death in males were higher than those in females;The top three causes of death in patients aged 85 had the highest mortality rate;The mortality rates of patients with circulatory and respiratory diseases admitted through emergency routes were higher than those admitted through non-emergency routes(P<0.001).Conclusions Hospitals should strengthen the medical treatment of male patients,those over 85 years old,admitted to emergency departments,patients with circulatory system diseases,respiratory system diseases,and tumors,while continuously improving their emergency and emergency specialized capabilities.
