Analysis of the Main Causes of Death and Cause-free Life Expectancy of Permanent Residents in Longgang District,Shenzhen from 2016 to 2022
Objectives This study aims to investigate the mortality level and cause distribution of permanent residents in Longgang District,Shenzhen from January 1,2016 to December 31,2022,evaluate the main diseases that endanger the health of residents in Longgang District and determine the priorities for prevention and treatment.Methods Data on all causes of death for 22,905 permanent residents in Longgang District during this period were collected.The mortality rate,cause of death composition,cause of death order,cause-excluded life expectancy and other related indicators were calculated.Results The crude death rate of permanent residents in Longgang District was 87.69/100,000,showing an overall upward trend.The top three causes of death were malignant tumors,cardiovascular diseases,and cerebrovascular diseases.The first causes of death had different rankings in different age groups.Among the top three causes of death,cardiovascular disease had a great impact on residents'life expectancy,while malignant tumors posed the greatest threat to the health of permanent residents.Conclusions The crude death rate of the permanent population in Longgang District is lower than the national level,and the death rates and causes of death of different age groups in the district are different.Chronic non-communicable diseases such as malignant tumors and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are becoming the main health threats to permanent residents in Longgang District and should be the focus of chronic disease control.
