Distribution of Characteristics and Cost Analysis of 1186 Kidney Transplant Patients
Objectives To analyze the distribution characteristics and cost features of renal transplant patients in a hospital,and provide a foundation for the management,prevention and cost control of renal transplant related diseases.Methods To select 1186 renal transplant patients hospitalized in a hospital from January 1st,2022,to December 31st,2023,and collect their general and disease-related information through the front page of medical record.The clinical characteristics and costs of the patients were analyzed.Results Among the 1186 renal transplant patients,849(71.6%)were male and 337(28.4%)were female,with an average age of 36.07 years.The largest proportion of patients(84.0%)was aged between 21-50 years old.Among them,1,178(99.2%)were discharged from the hospital after being medically treated for an average of 15.82 days.The main disease diagnosis included chronic glomerulonephritis,diabetic nephropathy,and polycystic kidney.19.5%of patients had underlying diseases,with viral hepatitis,diabetes mellitus,hypertension,and other chronic diseases being the main ones.Additionally,18.2%of the patients suffered from postoperative complications,with infections and grafted renal insufficiency as the main ones.The average hospitalization cost for renal transplant patients was 282,800 RMB,and the three major cost components were consumables,drugs,and diagnostics.Post-operative complications were identified as the main factor affecting the hospitalization cost of renal transplant patients.Conclusions Improving screening methods for chronic kidney diseases in young adults,promoting a healthy lifestyle,and enhancing postoperative monitoring and management could help reduce the economic burden on renal transplant patients.
