Clinical Study on the Lipid-lowering Effect of Tibetan Tea on Patients with Hyperlipidemia
To observe the efficacy and safety of Tibetan tea combined with atorvastatin calcium in the treatment of hyperlipidemia,80 patients with hyperlipidemia were randomly divided into experimental group and control group to explore the fat and weight reducing mechanism of Tibetan tea.The experimental group was treated with Tibetan tea combined with atorvastatin calcium and the control group was treated with atorvastatin calcium alone. After 12 weeks of treatment, the blood lipid, body composition index[body weight, body fat percentage, body mass index(BMI),waist circumference, visceral fat area],serum oxidative stress index[superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA)]and insulin resistance monitoring index[serum insulin, serum free fatty acid(FFA)],and pancreatic islet in 2 groups were measured. The change of hormone resistance index(HOMA-IR)and the occurrence of adverse reactions were recorded. The lipid-lowering effect of experimental group was significantly better than that of control group. After treatment, the body weight,BMI,body fat percentage, waist circumference, visceral fat area,HOMA-IR,serum FFA and MDA of the experimental group were all decreased compared with those before treatment, while serum SOD was significantly increased compared with that before treatment. After treatment, the body weight, body fat percentage, waist circum-ference,visceral fat area, serum FFA and MDA of the experimental group were significantly decreased compared with those of the control group, and serum SOD was significantly increased.Tibetan tea combined with atorvastatin calcium in the treatment of hyperlipidemia could more effectively lower blood lipids, reduce visceral fat,and improve insulin resistance and oxidative stress level in the body.
