Research Progress on Physiological,Biochemical, and Molecular Mechanisms of Tea Plants in Response to High Temperature Stress
Tea plant is an important cash crop and tea is widely popular in the world. However, tea plants prefer a warm and humid climate, and high temperature stress can seriously affect the growth and development of tea plants, significantly reducing the yield, quality and economic benefits of tea. This paper summarized the research progress on the effects of high temperature stress on the physiology and major secondary metabolites(catechins, theanine and caffeine)of tea plants, and described the molecular mechanism of tea plants in response to high temperature, with a view to providing a theoretical basis for the improvement of tea cultivation and the selection and breeding of heat-resistant tea cultivars.
