Tea Economic Policy of the Ma Yin Regime in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms of Chu and its Effects
Since the first year of the Tang Jianzhong(780),the tea tax became one of the cornerstones of the feudal dynasty's finance.In the face of regime changes,policy adjustments,and changes in trade patterns,the tea policy of successive dynasties has had its own distinctive features.This paper focused on the Ma Yin regime of Chu during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period,traced the historical lineage of its tea policy,analyzed in depth the internal and external environments of Ma Chu's governance,and carefully combed through the evolution of the tea policy's trajectory and core elements.Through the co-existence of government and private sectors,the innovation of the coinage and taxation system,and other regional practices,this paper revealed the unique features of the tea policy of Ma-chu,and further explored its far-reaching influence and contribution in promoting regional economic prosperity,ethnic and cultural exchanges,and the expansion of foreign trade.
