Study on Genetic Polymorphism of Mannose-binding Lectin MBL Gene and Resistance to Mastitis in Dairy Cows
Mannose-binding lectin,a member of the lectin family,is a pattern-recognition serum protein that binds a variety of microor-ganisms and activates the lectin complement pathway.Bovine mastitis is a complex mastitis disease, which is most often caused by envi-ronmental or infectious pathogenic bacteria in the breast, which seriously affects the efficiency of milk production and the health of dairy cows. This paper focuses on the relationship between mannose-binding lectin gene polymorphism and dairy cow mastitis, and intro-duces the research progress of disease resistance breeding of dairy cow mastitis at home and abroad. Many studies have shown that the analysis of mannose-binding lectin polymorphism seems to be a promising indirect marker for improving mastitis resistance in dairy cows, and the application of disease resistance genes in breeding will be the main direction of disease resistance and immunity in the future.
