Breeding and Germplasm Characteristics of Wanlin White Goat New Variety Approved by the State
To better protect and develop and utilize the excellent local sheep breeds in Anhui Province,and increase the production capacity of high-quality meat sheep in China.In this study,we carried out the breeding of a new breed of Anhui Wanlin white goat based on the local breed Anhui white goat and introduced Saanen dairy goat and Boer goat bloodline.After four generations of three-way cross and cross fixed breeding,the body weight of 2-month-old male lambs of Wanlin White Goat was(12.38±1.63)kg,and the data of body height,body length and chest circumference were(46.12±1.51),(44.15±1.55)and(50.10±1.99)cm,respec-tively.The body weight of 6-month-old male lambs was(31.12±3.14)kg,and the data of body height,body length and chest cir-cumference were(63.38±1.98),(58.95±2.15)and(72.20±2.55)cm,respectively;The body weight of 12-month-old male lambs was(52.5±4.01)kg,and the data of body height,body length and chest circumference were(71.38±4.11),(68.55±2.99),(85.85±3.55)cm,respectively.The body weight of 18-month-old ram was(66.16±4.78)kg,and the lambing rates of body height,body length and chest circumference were(81.25±4.10),(73.44±4.21)and(92.21±4.31)cm,respectively.The lambing rate of Wanlin white goat reached 255.3％.The slaughtering rate,net meat percentage and eye muscle area of 6-month-old rams were(54.15±1.42)％,(47.08± 0.85)％and(13.01±0.44)cm2,respectively.The slaughtering rate,net meat percentage and eye muscle area of 6-month-old ewes were(53.21±0.76)％,(46.56±1.52)％and(12.92±0.78)cm2,respectively.The new variety of Wanlin white goat has large body size,white back hair,symmetrical and compact body structure,wide and flat back,strong limbs and solid hoof.It gives full play to the excellent characteristics of high survival rate,strong resistance and rough feeding resistance of parents.
