Isolation and Drug Sensitivity Test of Salmonella from Different Local Chicken Breeds with Positive Pullorum
To understand the infection and drug resistance of Salmonella in six local breeds of chickens in Guangxi,90 samples of six local breeds of Lingshan Partridge Chicken,Guangxi Sanhuang Chicken,Nandan Yao Chicken,Donglan Wu Chicken,Rongxian Xiayan Chicken, and Tian'e Liuhua Shan Chicken were collected from all over Guangxi.Fifteen adult chickens with healthy clinical manifestations were selected for serological detection of pullorum disease in each breed, and two chickens were randomly selected from the chickens with positive detection of pullorum disease for necropsy. The diseased materials were collected to isolate Salmonella, and the drug sensitivity test was carried out on the isolated strains. The results showed that 22 positive samples were detected from 90 samples of six local varieties, and the positive rate of pullorum disease was 24.44%.Among the six local varieties, the positive rate of Guangxi Sanhuang chicken was the highest, which was 46.67%.Four strains of Salmonella were isolated from 12 pullorum-positive chickens. The detection rate of Salmonella in pullorum-positive chickens was 33.33%,and the highest detection rate was 100%in Guangxi Sanhuang chickens. The results of the drug sensitivity test showed that the four isolates were highly sensitive to ceftriaxone, cefoperazone, ciprofloxacin, and ofloxacin, and had different degrees of resistance to amoxicillin, gentamicin, tetracycline, and neomycin. It can be seen that the infection of Salmonella pullorum in six local breed source farms in Guangxi still exists and is serious, and the isolated bacteria have different degrees of drug resistance to various drugs.Farmers should strengthen the purification of chicken pullorum according to the actual situation, regularly carry out the drug sensitivity test of Salmonella, and select efficient and sensitive drugs for prevention and control,to improve breeding efficiency.
