Study on the Determination of Nutrient and Heavy Metal Content in Feces of Guigan Semi-fine Wool Sheep of Different Genders
To study the current situation of fecal pollution in the breeding and production of Guiqian semi-fine wool sheep,10 healthy 1-year-old Guiqian semi-fine wool sheep were selected for the experiment, divided into a male sheep group and a female sheep group, with 5 sheep in each group. The nutrient and heavy metal content as well as some microbial indicators in the feces were measured. The results showed that the content of TN,NH4+-N,and NO3--N in ram feces was significantly greater than that in ewes(P<0.05),but the difference in organic matter content between the two was not significant(P>0.05).The content of arsenic and cadmium in the feces of male and female sheep is lower than the detection limit, while the zinc content in the feces of male and female sheep is significantly lower than that of female sheep(P<0.05).The content of other indicators such as copper, mercury, lead, and chromium is not significantly different between groups(P>0.05).In terms of microorganisms,no roundworm eggs were detected in the feces of both male and female sheep, the number of Escherichia coli groups in male sheep feces was higher than that in female sheep, but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).It can be seen that rams and ewes have different digestion and absorption abilities for nutrients and heavy metals.Under the current feeding mode, the production of Guiqian semi-fine wool sheep has not had an impact on environmental pollution.
