Study on the Mating Effect of Four Different Medium-speed Yellow-feathered Broilers
In this experiment, four different medium-speed yellow-feathered broiler specialized lines 301,818,502,and 505 were constructed to establish a two-line matching combination, and their hatching performance, survival rate, and egg production performance were compared and analyzed. The best two-line matching combination was selected, which laid a foundation for further breeding medium-speed yellow-feathered broilers with a three-way hybrid combination. The results showed that 301(father)x 505(mother)and 301(father)x 818(mother)had lower qualified rates, fertilization rates, and hatching rates than other combinations, but had no significant difference in fertilized egg hatching rate compared with other combinations. The survival rate of 301(father)× 818(mother)was lower than that of other combinations at 0-18 weeks and 18-66 weeks. The opening age and opening weight of 502(father)x 505(mother)and 818(father)x 505(mother)lines were significantly higher than those of other lines(P<0.05).The body weight of 502(father)x 505(mother)two-line matching group was significantly greater than that of other groups at 43 weeks of age(P<0.05),and 65.67g greater than that of 818(father)x 505(mother).The number of eggs per day at 43 weeks and 66 weeks of age of 502(father)x 505(mother)were significantly greater than other combinations(P<0.05),and the number of eggs per day was 3 and 4 higher than that of 502(father)x 818(mother),respectively.It can be seen that the 502(father)x 505(mother)two-line matching combination has better hatching performance and higher survival rate than other matching combinations.
