Conservation and Development of Local Pig Germplasm Resources in Guangxi
Livestock and poultry seed industry is the"chip"of animal husbandry industry.Scientific protection,development and uti-lization of local animal germplasm resources in Guangxi is of great significance to the sustainable development of Guangxi animal husbandry and the revitalization of local economy.This paper studied the breed characteristics,breed protection and utilization of local pig breeds in Guangxi,aiming at the problems existing in the process of protection and development of local pig breed re-sources in Guangxi,such as insufficient attention to germplasm resources protection and development,inadequate allocation of special funds by government departments,and uneven professional level of management teams.It was pointed out that we should attach importance to the protection and development of germplasm resources,strengthen the application of modern biological germplasm preservation technology,improve the means of germplasm preservation,and strengthen the construction of human resources,so as to provide reference for the protection and development of local pig germplasm resources.
