The Conservation History,Current Situation,and Future of Bian Chicken
After the 1980s,the change of breeding environment,the entry of foreign breeds and the popularization of large-scale farming have led to a sharp decline in the number of Bian chickens.It was on the verge of extinction.This paper summarized the situation of Bian chicken production area,including geographical location,climate conditions,breed formation history,etc.,com-pared and analyzed the changes of appearance characteristics and production performance of Bian chicken since written records,in-troduced the history and current situation of Bian chicken breed preservation,and put forward future development goals.Some practical suggestions and countermeasures were put forward in view of the problems existing in the conservation and utilization of species,in order to provide reference for the protection,development and utilization of germplasm resources of Bian chicken.
