Abstract
With the rapid development of molecular biology and bioinformatics,molecular breeding technology has achieved re-markable results in the field of animal breeding. This paper mainly discusses the application of molecular breeding technology in yak breeding,briefly describes the basic principles and methods of molecular breeding technology,including molecular marker-as-sisted selection,genome selection and gene editing,etc.,and introduces in detail the examples of application of molecular breeding technology in yak genetic improvement,breed selection and disease resistance enhancement,etc.,which provide theoretical basis and technical support for the development of China's yak industry,and offer new ideas and methods to improve the breeding effi-ciency,promote breed improvement and industrial development of yak.
