Land Multi-functional Transformation and Characteristic Analysis based on Land Use Transition: A Case Study of Tang County, Hebei Province
The purpose of the paper is to study the patterns and characteristics of land multi-functional transformation from the perspective of land use transition. The research methods are as follows. The three remote sense images separately from 2000, 2007 and 2016 were interpreted into land use maps based on the ArcGIS 10.0 software platform. Meanwhile, land use transfer matrix were used to analyze land use transformation from 2000 to 2016. At last, the areas of productive function land, living function land and ecological function land were categorized according to the three-function theory and gravity transfer theory, and then the patterns and characteristics of three-function spaces transformation were exhibited. The results show that: 1)The land use patterns of the study area changed significantly in 2000—2016, the land use areas of woodland, grassland, urban and rural land increased significantly, especially the no used land decreased sharply with the rate of 41.33%. The transformation from cultivated land to urban and rural residential land mainly occurred in the central and southern flat terrain, and the transformation among forest land, grassland and no used land mainly occurred in the middle and northern hilly areas. 2)Land transformation among different functions in most townships showed that the areas in 2000—2016 experienced the transitions from the productive function land to the living function land, as well as from the ecological function land to the productive function land and living function land. The proportions of living function areas and productive function areas increased by 8.24% and 3.43%, respectively. In the study area, the gravity of ecological-living-productive land functions moved towards the northwest, and the range of latitude-orientated movement was greater than that of the longitude-orientated movement. The gravity of productive, living and ecological land moved towards the northwest, with the movement extents of 2436.56m, 100600.96m and 2022.21 m, respectively. 3)In the area of living function, the central town expanded outward, while the rural residential land contracted in the original space and developed rapidly along the transportation lines. The main characteristic of production land expansion was transformation from no used land. The production land was extending to the middle north area, and the water source condition was its key factor. Lastly, ecological function area was being occupied by the productive and living function areas. In conclusion, the study of land multi-functional transformation from the perspective of land use transition can objectively and concretely reflect the causes and trends of land use change, which is helpful for regional land use management.
