Does Intergenerational Feedback Promote Land Transfer Behavior of Left-behind Elderly?——An Empirical Study Based on CHARLS
The purposes of this study are to clarify the extent to which intergenerational feedbacks, such as economic support and emotional support, affect land transfer behavior, and then to recognize the substitution role of family care for land care,to promote the orderly transfer of land management rights. The research methods are Logit model and instrumental variables approach. The results show that:1)intergenerational economic support significantly promotes the land transfer behavior of the left-behind elderly;2)frequent offline communication between the left-behind elderly and their offspring promotes their land transfer, while online contact has no effect;3)heterogeneity analysis reveals that even with intergenerational feedback, the left-behind elderly with strong labor capacity are reluctant to transfer their land;4)the receipt of social old-age pension security inhibits the land transfer behavior of the left-behind elderly by crowding out intergenerational economic support to inhibit the land transfer behavior of the left-behind elderly. In conclusion, against the backdrop of the small subsidy of the"New Rural Insurance",family care still plays an important role in safeguarding, and attention should be paid to the promotion of intergenerational economic support for land transfer and the inhibitory effect of offline exchanges,to reasonably guide the land transfer behavior of left-behind elderly.
