Study of the Income Effect of Farmers'Cultivated Land Quality Protection Behavior Based on Rural Household Survey Data in Jiangxi Province
The purposes of this study are to understand farmer's protection behavior towards cultivated land quality,to ensure food security and to promote farmers'income,by analyzing the impacts and differences of cultivated land quality protection behavior on agricultural income based on the survey data of 2,160 farmers in Jiangxi Province. The research methods include endogenous transformation model and quantile regression model. The results showed that:1)compared to farmers who did not participate in cultivated land quality protection, participation in cultivated land quality protection significantly induced higher agricultural income.2)Farmers exhibited some differences concerning the impact of cultivated land quality protection behavior in different levels of agricultural income.Cultivated land quality protection behavior had an insignificant income-enhancing effect on the low-income farmers, while the income-enhancing effect was stronger for the middle-income farmers than for the high-income farmers. The significant direction of capital input type and labor input type for cultivated land quality protection behavior towards agricultural income was basically consistent with the effect direction of overall cultivated land quality protection behaviors towards agricultural income.3)Insurance coverage, high standard farmland construction and ecological cognition positively promoted farmers'cultivated land quality protection behavior. In conclusion, farmers'cultivated land quality protection behavior has a significant income increase effect, but the income-enhancing effect on different agricultural income shows prominent differences.Accordingly,it is necessary to promote the differentiated cultivated land protection of farmers with different income levels,to actively improve the construction of agricultural infrastructure and agricultural insurance system,to focus on facilitating large-scale agricultural operation, and to improve farmers'ecological cognition, with the purpose of encouraging farmers to continuously protect the quality of cultivated land.
