Building a Diversified Food Supply System Guided by the Greater Agriculture Approach and the Greater Food Approach
After the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,in light of the new circumstances and challenges that have emerged in the country's food supply and demand relationship,General Secretary Xi Jin-ping proposed that we should establish a"greater agriculture approach"and a"greater food approach",make full use of"both domestic and international markets, and two kinds of resources",and develop food resources through all-round and multi-channel pathways to meet the increasingly diverse and nutritious food demands of Chinese resi-dents.This paper first reviews the evolution of China's food and agricultural perspectives, explicates the connota-tions of the"greater agriculture approach"and the"greater food approach",then summarizes the main challenges faced by China's food supply security, and on this basis, presents thoughts and suggestions on building a diversified food supply security system.
