Democratic Supervision Report on"Ecological Protection and Restoration in the Yellow River Delta"
As the best-preserved,broadest and youngest wetland ecosystem in China's warm temperate zone, the Yellow River Delta has three world-class ecological landscapes:the intersection of rivers and oceans, newborn wetlands and wild birds. It is an important ecological functional area of the Yellow River basin and a representative wetland ecosystem in the world. It is of great significance to maintain the balance of river and sea ecosystem,regu-late climate, store flood and prevent drought, improve biodiversity and maintain regional ecological security. The Yellow River Delta has a fragile ecological environment and complex, diverse and intertwined ecological problems. The restoration of the ecosystem is difficult, the process is slow, the stability is poor, the risk of degradation still exists, and the protection situation is still grim.To this end,Shandong Provincial Committee of China Zhi Gong Party took the lead to carry out democratic supervision research on the ecological protection and restoration of the Yellow River Delta. The research found that the main problems restricting the ecological protection and restoration of the Yellow River Delta are imperfect planning policies and factor support systems, difficulty in the development and utilization of water resources, unstable ecological engineering results, greater pressure on biodiversity protec-tion,and many contradictions in the comprehensive utilization of saline-alkali land.It is suggested to strengthen the ecological protection and restoration of the Yellow River Delta from these aspects:strengthening planning guid-ance and factor guarantee, strengthening the conservation and intensive use of water resources, consolidating the a-chievements of ecological protection and restoration, accelerating the implementation of the major project of biodi-versity protection in the Yellow River Delta, and scientifically carrying out comprehensive utilization of saline-alka-li land.
