Reshaping the Concept:Focusing on Improving the Quality of the Silver Economy
The silver economy,also known as the"sunrise industry",is clearly proposed in the 14th Five-Year Plan and the outline of the 2035 vision goals.which is said that"developing the silver economy,developing age-appropriate technologies and products,and cultivating new business forms such as smart elderly care."In 2024,in order to promote the silver economy and improve the well-being of the elderly,the General Office of the State Council officially issued the Opinions on Developing the Silver Economy to Improve the Well-being of the Elderly.The guideline identifies four key areas and proposes a total of 26 specifiic measures aimed at promoting the comprehensive development of the silver economy in scale,standardization,clustering and branding.Currently,China's silver economy is in its initial stage,and the continuous improvement of social security sys-tem makes the consumption structure of the elderly in our country increasingly diversified.However,in this special market with great development potential,there are outstanding structural contradictions between supply and de-mand.On the basis of the original development,we must advance with the times and reshape our concept to better meet the multi-level and diversified needs of services for the elderly;And we must re-understand the structure of the elderly group in order to strengthen the new economic momentum and actively respond to the new era needs of the aging population.
