Exploring Chinese Folk Religion By Means of Digital Humanities
Fieldwork is the main method in the field of folk religion research.However,due to the spatial constraints of field locations,fieldwork can only investigate specific kind of folk religion within a small space,and it is very difficult to obtain a comprehensive and overall understanding of folk religion research under the traditional path.With the rise of digital humanities technology,we can use this new technical tool to explore two new paths for folk religion investigation and research:one is the database of qualitative literature,and the other is the application of GIS technology.These methods make up for the shortcomings of traditional investigation and research paths to a certain extent,and are conducive to the formation of a national overall understanding and analysis of folk religion.
