This paper analyzes the principle and method of the Operational Transfer Path Analysis, and obtains the contribution of each excitation source to the response point via the response analysis, the results of which are then tested and verified via data analysis in EMU.The key excitation sources include the traction motor, gearbox and axle box in the EMU bogie area,as well as the traction motor, traction fan and traction transformer in the equipment compartment area and the aerodynamic noise on the carbody surface. The noise contribution at the excitation source is calculated fairly accurately,as the noise point at the end of the passenger compartment is used as the target response point. The paper hopefully can provide data support to the structural optimization,as well as the vibration & noise reduction of EMUs.
