Research on Driving Fatigue of EMU Drivers Passing Through Long and Large Tunnels
With the development of the high speed railway network, railway lines have become complex and diverse. In long and large tunnels, changes in lighting and noise, coupled with the monotonous and confined driving conditions, increases the risk of fatigue for EMU drivers. Therefore, ensuring the attentiveness of EMU drivers amidst complex environments emerges as a paramount concern in safeguarding EMU operations.Focused on visual changes, this study analyzes the causes of driving fatigue of EMU drivers operating in HSR long and large tunnels.Factors contributing to fatigue is also presented and analyzed through a case study of the geographical environment of Wanzhoubei-Xiangyangdong Section of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing HSR.Solutions are proposed from three aspects:enhancing the line environment, optimizing driving conditions, and monitoring and analyzing drivers'operational status. Moreover,a viable fatigue monitoring approach is introduced, alongside recommendations for future studies.
