Case Analysis of Mutual Standby Failures of Space-Ground Time Sources at Railway Time Synchronization Network Nodes
This paper analyzed causes of space-ground time source mutual standby failures, focusing on failures occurring at secondary time nodes. The main contributor identified is the excessive time deviation between space-ground time sources.A theoretical calculation was performed to estimate the time error that may arise from long-distance time transmission on the ground.Additionally, several potential causes for the excessive time error were examined. Therefore,it is found that the existing technical architecture of the railway time synchronization network is insufficient to meet the future 5G-R system's requirements for high-precision time synchronization performance as well as safe and reliable operation and maintenance. It is essential to study and enhance the technical architecture and networking schemes of the railway time synchronization network, and further improve the operation and maintenance methods.
