Evaluation Method of Metro Rail Corrugation Based on Fractal Characterization of Structure Function
The issue of rail corrugation has existed for a century, yet it remains unresolved. There is a general problem that the rail corrugation evaluation indicators proposed in the existing rail grinding standards cannot evaluate the roughness of rail corrugation from multiple scales, and it is difficult to benchmark with the influence of corrugation on dynamics performance of train operation.Through fractal analysis of rail corrugation rail surface irregularity data, this paper proposes optimized fractal indicators suitable for rail corrugation rail surface irregularity,so as to quantitatively evaluate the influence of rail corrugation on dynamics performance of train operation. The study indicates that the rail corrugation evaluation indicators, which fit best with the wheel-rail force fluctuation indicator, are modified fractal dimension+scale coefficient, and an empirical formula of mapping relationship among the three is established to guide the rail grinding strategy based on rail corrugation.
