Correlation analysis of serum long non-coding RNA OIP5-AS1 and microRNA-137 levels with cardiac function and adverse cardiovascular events in patients with unstable angina pectoris
Objective To investigate the correlation of serum long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)OIP5-AS1 and microRNA-137(miR-137)levels with cardiac function and adverse cardiovascular events in patients with unstable angina pectoris(UA).Methods A total of 102 UA patients admitted to Hainan Second People's Hospital from May 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the observation group.A total of 102 healthy people in the same period were selected as the control group.UA patients were divided into occurrence group(n=35)and non-occurrence group(n=67)according to the occurrence of adverse cardiovascular events during 6 months of follow-up.The levels of serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The Pearson method was used to analyze the correlation between serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 in UA patients, and the correlation between lncRNA OIP5-AS1,miR-137 and cardiac function indicators.Logistic regression model was used to analyze the potential factors affecting the occurrence of adverse cardiovascular events in UA patients. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 levels in predicting adverse cardiovascular events in UA patients. Results The levels of serum miR-137 and left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD)in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the levels of serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)were significantly lower than those in the control group(all P<0.001).The levels of serum miR-137 and LVEDD in the occurrence group were significantly higher than those in the non-occurrence group, and the serum levels of lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and LVEF were significantly lower than those in the non-occurrence group(all P<0.001).There was a negative correlation between serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137(r=-0.555,P<0.001).Serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 was negatively correlated with LVEDD(r=-0.441,P<0.001)and positively correlated with LVEF(r=0.479,P<0.001).Serum miR-137 was positively correlated with LVEDD(r=0.466,P<0.001)and negatively correlated with LVEF(r=-0.472,P<0.001).The increased levels of miR-137 and LVEDD were the risk factors for adverse cardiovascular events in UA patients, while the increased levels of lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and LVEF were the protective factors(all P<0.05).The areas under the curve of serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 in predicting cardiovascular events in UA patients were 0.845,0.832 and 0.924,respectively.The combination of serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 was better than that of serum lncRNA OIP5-AS1(Z=2.146,P=0.032)and miR-137(Z=2.114,P=0.035)alone.Conclusion The serum levels of lncRNA OIP5-AS1 were decreased and miR-137 were increased in UA patients with adverse cardiovascular events. The serum levels of lncRNA OIP5-AS1 and miR-137 were potential factors affecting the occurrence of adverse cardiovascular events in UA patients. And the combination of the two shows higher efficacy in predicting cardiovascular adverse events in UA patients.
