Research progress on primary sclerosing cholangitis complicated with inflammatory bowel disease
Primary sclerosing cholangitis(PSC)is a chronic cholestatic disease of the biliary tract, which is often accompanied by inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).PSC coexisting with IBD shows different clinical phenotypes, disease outcome and tumor risk from independent diseases, which affects the treatment and manage-ment of the disease. This article reviews the pathogenesis of PSC complicated with IBD,the interaction between the course of disease, and the risk and monitoring of related malignant tumors,in order to enhance clinicians'understanding of the disease and provide new ideas for the clinical research and diagnosis and treatment of PSC complicated with IBD.
