In the context of promoting the construction of ecological civilization through education,the importance of cultivating ecological literacy in education has become increasingly prominent.Previous research has so far discussed the cultivation of ecological literacy in foreign language teaching in higher education,most of which,however,focused on ecological teaching at a macro level.Studies on ecologically-oriented instructional design have been limited.In view of this,this article integrates the cultivation mode of ecological literacy from the perspective of ecolinguistics and the functionally oriented R2L pedagogy.The aim is to construct an ecological literacy oriented foreign language teaching approach,illustrated by a specific text in college English textbooks.The study is committed to integrating the concept of ecological civilization into the process of education and teaching and advancing the implementation of teaching goals for ecological literacy,thereby making contributions to the construction of national ecological civilization.
