Exploring a Blended Academic English Writing Teaching Model from the Perspective of Classroom Ecology
Academic English writing has become an important part of tertiary English teaching in China, but there is yet very limited research on its blended teaching model. This study constructs a blended academic English writing teaching ecosystem based on the"classroom ecology"perspective and uses a case study approach to investigate its effectiveness.Through classroom observations, written text analysis, and semi-structured interviews, this study finds that students exhibited various collaborative learning patterns in their offline and online ecological writing communities, and perceived educational, social, and technological affordances and challenges of this blended teaching model. The findings of this study provide insights into the pedagogy of blended academic English writing.
