On Cultivation of Translators'Cross-Cultural Competence and Global Cultural Perspective in the Context of New Technologies and the New Era
Translators are an indispensable human resource in any era and any country.Therefore,cultivating competent translators has been considered a very important task by the government since the establishment of the People's Republic of China.In the context of new technologies and the new era,the country's need for translators,especially competent Chinese-to-foreign-language translators is becoming more urgent.With the rapid development of AI technology,"machine translation"can largely replace"human translation".Under this circumstance,we have to put more teaching focus on the cultivation of translation majors'cross-cultural ability and global cultural perspective than on their bilingual ability,so as to cultivate the competent and reliable translation experts who are open-minded enough to be able to integrate Chinese and foreign cultures,and to do translation with a global vision.
