Ethics in academic research is an issue that few people pay attention to and discuss in the field of foreign languages in China,but it is closely related to our academic exploration.Scholars in the West have been discussing this issue for decades,and they have also proposed principles and operational guidelines.This paper first makes a brief introduction to the concept of ethics,then distinguishes macro-ethics from micro-ethics,and then discusses the relationship between research methods and ethics,and finally outlines several important stages of ethical practice.It is hoped that the discussion in this paper will arouse the academic colleagues'attention to the ethical issues in teaching and research,and that scholars in the field will jointly explore ethical issues in teaching and research in the Chinese context.
