Developing CRS Talents Through Curriculum Reform in Chinese Higher Education:Exploration and Reflection
This article examined China's demand for CRS(Country and Region Studies)talents,elaborated on the necessity of CRS education,analyzed CRS education home and abroad,pointed out the strengths and weaknesses of nurtuing CRS talents in foreign language departments in China.It presented the achievements of an English teaching institution which proposed the philosophy of CLI(Content and Language Integration)and the CLI-guided curriculum design,material development,course teaching,and teacher development.It also pointed out the challenges faced by foreign language departments in the systematic development of CRS talents.It is hoped that the reflection on the exploration in the CRS curriculum can shed some light on the education of CRS talents in China.
