Characteristics and Functions of Tibetan Buddhist Temple Rules
The Tibetan Buddhist temple rules are rich in content,detailed and distinctive,and the temple rules of different periods,regions and sects in history have had a positive impact and effect on the function,role and value of Tibetan society.This paper summarizes some characteristics of Tibetan Buddhist temple rules from the collected texts,and discusses the contents of Tibetan Buddhist temple rules and their effects on the society of Xizang and other related areas.The rules of Tibetan Buddhist temples not only played an important role in the peace and stability of Xizang and Tibetan-related prefectures and counties of the four provinces,but also played an important role in the process of bringing Xizang into the jurisdiction of successive central governments of Chi-na.Studying the rules of Tibetan Buddhist temples and understanding their contents and characteristics will play a positive role in regulating and managing temples in Xizang and Tibetan-related prefectures and counties of the four provinces,and will help maintain social order among Xizang and Tibetan-related prefectures and counties of the four provinces,strengthen the cohesion of the Chinese nation,and safeguard the reunification of the mother-land and ethnic unity.It is of great significance to the long-term stability,prosperity and progress of Xizang and Tibetan-related prefectures and counties of the four provinces.
