The system of the Minister Resident in Xizang was one of the important innovative systems for frontier governance in the Qing Dynasty.As the highest administrative official dispatched by the central government to Xizang,the Minister Resident in Xizang played a crucial role in promoting the development of Xizang in aspects such as politics,economy,and law.Moreover,it also exerted a certain positive influence in governing Xizang,facilitating exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups in Xizang,and contributing to the cause of building the Chinese national community,leaving behind valuable historical experience.Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,the academic community has achieved fruitful results in research related to the Minister Resident in Xizang during the Qing Dynasty.In particular,in-depth research has been conducted on its political functions in governing Xizang.However,in comparison,there has been relatively less research on its economic functions.A full understanding of the economic functions of the Minister Resident in Xizang during the Qing Dynasty in governing Xizang,as well as the"historical dividends"and historical lessons generated from its economic governance,has certain reference and reference value for the contemporary economic and social development of Xizang,promoting the work of forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation,and maintaining a unified multi-ethnic country.
