Effects of Compound Nutritional Paste on Growth Performance of Newborn Piglets
To study the effect of compound nutritional paste on the growth performance of newborn piglets,136 litters of 1 465 newborn piglets, including 124 litters of 1 324 healthy piglets and 12 litters of 141 weak piglets, were selected and equally divided into two groups. The treatment group was orally administered 2 mL of compound nutritional paste within 12 hours after birth, and the weak piglets were orally administered another 2 mL of paste within 12 hours, while the control group did not do any other treatment. The data of new-born weight,7-day lactation survival rate, weaning number, weaning weight, lactation survival rate, and marketable rate were recorded respectively. It was found that oral administration of 2 mL of nutritional paste within 12 hours to newborn healthy piglets could highly sig-nificantly increase the 7-day lactation survival rate(P<0.01)and weaning survival rate(P<0.01),also could highly significantly increase the weaning marketable rate(P<0.01).Oral administration of 2 mL of nutritional Paste to newborn weak piglets within 12 hours and a-gain within 12 hours could highly significantly increase 7-day lactation survival(P<0.01)and weaning survival(P<0.01),also could highly significantly increase weaning marketable rate(P<0.01).It was concluded that oral administration of compound nutritional paste to newborn piglets can significantly increase piglet survival rate and growth performance.
