Spatial and Temporal Differences in Total Factor Productivity of Large-Scale Pig Breeding in China——Based on Malmquist Index and Super-Efficiency SBM Model
China was the largest pork producer.Pig breeding was one of the pillar industries in China agricultural production.Pork occu-pied an important position in the meat food consumption of urban and rural residents. This article was based on the Malmquist index and super-efficiency SBM model, based on the pig production data of 26 provinces from 2011 to 2021,evaluated and analyzed the produc-tion efficiency and total factor productivity of large-scale pig breeding and their spatio-temporal difference characteristics. The results showed that from a comprehensive perspective of production efficiency and total factor productivity, the production efficiency of large-scale pig breeding in my country has shown a fluctuating upward trend in the past 10 years, and the annual average value of pig breeding technical efficiency was 0.812.From the perspective of total factor productivity, the average annual growth rate of total factor productivity was 0.5%,showing a cyclical fluctuation trend, mainly relying on the growth of efficiency changed(1.3%).The total factor productivity of pigs had obvious regional differences, the central and western regions were suitable for the development of large scale pig farming, while the eastern coast was less suitable for large-scale pig farming. In the future, the central and western regions should continue to improve infrastructure and strengthen technology introduction and innovation, develop small-scale pig breeding in the east-ern region, optimize the reasonable allocation of production factors and resources, and adjust the breeding structure.
