Firstly,this paper summarized the current situation of pig breeding in Guizhou Province from five aspects:scale of pig breed-ing,main body of pig breeding,pig breeding mode,cost and benefit of pig breeding,policy of pig industry and social service,collects relevant information about pig industry in Guizhou through statistical yearbook,through the descriptive statistical analysis of its current situation analysis,it was concluded that there were some defects in the current development of pig industry in Guizhou Province,such as low degree of standardization and scale,lack of professional personnel and imperfect industrial supporting facilities.Secondly,com-pared Guizhou Province with the big provinces of Sichuan,Henan,Hunan and Shandong province in pig production,including the scale,cost,main body,supporting industry,pork sales and brand,social service system,and points out the gap and deficiency.Finally,the countermeasures proposed in response to the findings of the study were:(1)expanding the scale of breeding and promoting the stan-dardized scale of breeding;(2)supporting leading enterprises and give full play to their leading role;(3)encouraging small and medi-um-sized farmers to improve the scale of breeding;(4)strengthening the training of talents and raise the scientific level of breeding;(5)enhancing the quality of products and create local brands.
