Proper assessment and maintenance of deceased organ donors are crucial components of organ donation system.With the accumulation of clinical experiences and the continuous updating in evidence-based medicine,the criteria for evaluating donors and maintaining donor kidneys have evolved significantly.Branch of Organ Transplantation,Chinese Medical Association has convened the relevant experts in organ donation,procurement,transplantation and intensive care medicine.These experts focused upon a comprehensive range of research findings on kidney donation and transplantation from both domestic and international studies.By integrating current organ donation practices with the best available evidence,they have developed evidence-based recommendations aligned with the Oxford Levels of Evidence.As a result,the Chinese Guidelines for the Assessment and Maintenance of Organ Donors and Kidney Function(2023 edition)have been formulated.These guidelines offered detailed recommendations for 35 clinical issues related to maintenance,assessment and utilization of donor kidneys.
