Progress in research of DNA methyltransferases 1 in glioma
Glioma stands as the most aggressive primary tumor arising within the central nervous system(CNS)and is associated with high mortality and disability rates.DNA methyltransferase 1(DNMT1),a key enzyme closely related to DNA methylation,is significantly associated with the occurrence and progression of glioma. Its overexpres-sion has been found to be related to the invasiveness, deterioration, and drug resistance of glioma. And it was positive-ly correlated with the proliferation and metastasis of glioma.Moreover,DNMT1's involvement in regulating the expres-sion of various genes offers multiple potential targets for glioma treatment. This review provides an overview of the re-search progress on DNMT1 in glioma over the past decade, offering a systematic analysis of its role in glioma develop-ment,treatment,and prognosis. The aim is to present new perspectives and strategies for glioma treatment.
